Looking for a
no-nonsense concert...

Who says it's too expensive to go out in Paris? If you're lucky enough to be in the know, there are independently organized concerts where you can dance, drink, hang out and really have fun with three or four bands for only 30 or 40 Francs.

Now you can listen to ParisTempo's new musical selections online right here...

If you're looking for good music and aren't hung up on style, do what the musically connected crowd does and check out the LYLO.

LYLO's not a place, but rather a pocket-sized magazine of music listings for Paris and the Banilieue. LYLO, which is an acronym for "Les Yeux, Les Oreilles," comes out every two weeks, and is found free in many bars.

It is definitely not pretentious, but it is useful: all the concerts in Paris and the région parisienne are listed by date and time, with address, price of entry and average price of a drink. Everything from major concerts that cost too much, to the folk singer playing his guitar in the café on the corner for free -- its all in that little book.

So want to have a great night? Open LYLO and look for a bar nearby that has your favorite style of music (yes, they thoughtfully label each listing with a precise musical category) ...
